How to begin your Webquest...
1. Decide on a group of 4 students.
2. Read and discuss the 4 roles inherrant in this Webquest and decide which role each member of the group will take.
Geneaologist - Researches and records the family tree of major characters.
Mythologist - Researches and records the mythology surrounding the story (things the characters should know).
Cartographer - Records the various locations visited on the map (including where the dangers lie).
Anthropoligist - Researches and records the interactions between societies and cultures within the story.
3. Begin exploring the webpages linked to Process1, make sure to print JOURNAL #1 and JOURNAL #2 so that you can take notes as you go from the viewpoint of your role.
4. Once finished with Process 1, move onto Process 2 and follow the instructions to the letter.
5. After you have completed the 2 Processes, click on the Evaluation tab and read about the final assessment.
So... what does this Webquest have to do with school?
* It incorporates aspects of the Language Arts Curriculum in regards to group work, expression of ideas, and the development of critical understanding of texts. It also familiarizes you with ancient texts and mythology.
* It works with the Social Studies Curriculum to develop your knowledge of the Mediterranean and the culture and mythology of Ancient Greece.
